Naboso
NABOSO is a small natural winery based in Svätý Jur, a historic wine town near Bratislava, at the foot of the Little Carpathians. The project is run by Nadja and Andrej Miklušičák, who do the work themselves and stay close to every step, from vineyard to bottle. Nadja came to wine through hands-on experience in Austria and later worked in a wine bar in Copenhagen. There, she and Andrej began building their winery in Slovakia, where Andrej had already been making wine quietly for many years.
Their cellar is part of a house with roots going back to the 17th century, and this sense of place matters to the wines. NABOSO farms around 5 hectares around the town, on granite bedrock with sandy soils and south to south-east exposures. In the cellar, fermentation happens in open vats, the wines age for at least a year in used oak and acacia barrels, and the work is done by gravity. Sulfur is used only when needed, and in very small amounts.
What makes NABOSO easy to connect with is their clear idea: natural wine should still be clean, stable and truly enjoyable to drink. They are not chasing style for its own sake. They want wines with honesty, balance and character, but also wines they are happy to pour at their own table. A nice extra touch is their label work, created through collaborations with artists, which shows the same personal and thoughtful spirit as the wines themselves.
