Okr

Okr is Milan Nestarec’s easy-going liter of orange wine – made to be shared, not overthought. It’s a fresh, skin-contact blend built around Grüner Veltliner, joined by Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pálava, all grown organically on loess and sandy soils around Velké Bílovice and Moravský Žižkov.
Whole bunches go into the tank with stems, left on the skins for just a few days. This gives the wine its soft grip and cloudy ochre colour, but keeps it light, juicy and very drinkable rather than heavy or harsh. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and old wood, with no fining or filtration and only a tiny touch of sulfur, it’s all about purity and everyday pleasure.
In the glass, expect bright notes of peach, clementine, lemon, orange and a hint of lychee, wrapped in gentle floral aromas. Bottled in a 1-litre “minimagnum” with a crown cap, Okr is the kind of fun, talkative orange you open for friends and somehow finish faster than planned.
