Anne Petitot, La Bouchaude

La Bouchaude

La Bouchaude is a young estate in Bersaillin, in the Côtes du Jura, created by Anne Petitot in 2020. Before starting her own domaine, Anne studied agronomy and built experience step by step: first in Touraine, then during a year of harvests and winemaking in Chile, and later at well-known Jura estates such as Tissot and Ratapoil. She began with just 0.8 hectare and has slowly expanded the estate to around 2.3 hectares.

What makes La Bouchaude easy to understand is the clarity of Anne’s approach. She farms organically, uses animal traction for part of the soil work, and keeps cellar work simple. Fermentations and bottling are done without additives, while ageing can be shorter in tank or longer in old barrels depending on the wine. The idea is not to shape the wine too much, but to let Jura grapes and place speak clearly.

There is also a personal side to the project: some cuvée names come from Baudelaire’s poem Enivrez-vous. It is a small detail, but it says a lot. La Bouchaude feels like a thoughtful, independent Jura estate where wine is made with care, patience, and a real sense of purpose.
