Föld (“Earth”) is a natural white wine that really shows where it comes from. It’s a blend of Furmint and Hárslevelű from 60-year-old vines rooted in volcanic rhyolite soil in Tokaj. The grapes are hand-harvested, pressed as whole bunches and fermented with native yeasts, then aged for 10 months in stoneware egg-shaped vessels. These eggs keep the lees gently moving and give the wine a layered, rounded texture without any oak influence.
In the glass, Föld opens with citrus notes, white peach, green apple and linden blossom, with hints of ginger, herbs and a subtle tea-like spice. On the palate it is dry, precise and mineral, with lively acidity and a long, stony finish.
Unfined, unfiltered and made with no added sulphur, this is a pure, low-intervention Tokaj white that works beautifully with seafood, roast chicken or dishes with fresh herbs—best enjoyed lightly chilled.
