Arrinconao is an orange wine made from 100% Moscatel de Alejandría, grown in the Pago de la Cruz vineyard in Chipiona, just a kilometer from the Atlantic. This site is special for its layered soils: albariza at the top of the hill, clay in the middle, and beach sand at the bottom, giving the wine both freshness and a distinct mineral edge.
The grapes are harvested early to keep natural acidity, then destemmed and fermented on their skins in a century-old clay jar for nearly a month. After pressing, the wine rests in the same jar for seven months. This traditional method highlights Moscatel’s floral and citrus character while avoiding the heavier tropical notes of riper fruit.
The result is a savory, saline, and mineral wine with hints of stone fruit, citrus, and white flowers, balanced by a touch of bitterness. Arrinconao shows how Moscatel can be shaped into a wine that reflects both place and heritage in the Marco de Jerez region.
