Sumoll Àmfora is a dry, characterful rosé made from 100% Sumoll, a local red grape native to Catalonia. The grapes come from the Salinar vineyard, planted in 2010 on calcareous and clay soils in Penedès, which give the wine a fresh, mineral edge.
The juice spends 6 days on the skins, so the colour and flavour sit somewhere between a classic pale rosé and a very light red, with a bit more texture and gentle grip. Fermentation and 4 months of ageing take place in ceramic amphora, helping to keep the wine pure and smooth without adding any oak flavours.
Certified organic, fermented spontaneously, with no added sulphites, unfined and unfiltered, this is a vegan-friendly rosé that feels honest and unadorned: just grape, place and a clean, very dry finish (less than 1 g/L of residual sugar).
