0550 Ancestral is a sparkling Moscatel from Sedella, in the Axarquía area of Málaga. The grapes come from 50-year-old vines planted on white slate soils at 550 metres altitude, a setting that helps shape the wine’s fresh and mineral side.
It is made by the ancestral method: the wine finishes its fermentation in the bottle, creating natural bubbles. Before bottling, whole clusters are pressed and the fermentation begins in French oak barrels. The wine then spends a long time resting on its lees, which gives it more depth and a gentle savoury character.
This is a Moscatel with a different face: not only aromatic, but also textured, mature and shaped by time.
