Ma’n'tra is Jaroslav Osička’s orange-style Gewürztraminer from the Zadní Hora vineyard in Velké Bílovice, Moravia. The grapes ferment spontaneously, then spend around 10 days in contact with skins, seeds and stems—this is what gives the wine its amber tone and a gentle tannic grip. After pressing, it continues naturally (including malolactic) and rests for about 10 months on fine lees in a large acacia barrel made from local Moravian wood. The result is a dry, textured wine that keeps Gewürztraminer’s natural perfume but adds more depth and tea-like structure than a typical white. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a small touch of sulphur at the end.
