Primatraccia Rosso is a pure Montepulciano from vines planted in 1998-2001 on clay-limestone terraces that overlook the Adriatic in Rocca San Giovanni. After a gentle 10-day maceration, the must ferments with its own native yeasts and then spends seven months in porous terracotta amphorae. The wine is bottled unfiltered and without added sulphites, letting the grape speak for itself. In the glass it shows bright cherry, rose and violet, backed by a fresh herbal hint. The medium-bodied palate is juicy and lively, with crisp acidity that keeps each sip light and moreish. Serve slightly cool with pasta ragù, grilled lamb or even a kebab, now or over the next few years.
