Slov Wines (Slov Artisanal Wines) is a small project started by two friends, Marko and Matija, in the hills of Štajerska, northeastern Slovenia. It began as a shared passion that slowly became a winery, guided by friendship and intuition.

The team works with minimal-intervention methods, keeping things simple in the cellar and avoiding heavy processing. Their wines are usually unfiltered, made to show the character of their place rather than the hand of the winemaker. Vineyards are small, and the pace is unhurried so each wine can develop in its own time.

Štajerska sits within Podravje, Slovenia’s largest wine region, known for fresh whites and the country’s growing tradition of skin-contact (orange) wines—a style Slov Wines embraces.

You may come across cuvées like Belo Belo, a friendly, skin-contact field blend made in tiny batches, or an Orange Riesling from Štajerska. Both reflect the winery’s straightforward approach: clean fruit, long macerations when it fits, and gentle handling from grape to bottle.

What motivates Slov Wines is clear: to make honest bottles for everyday tables, rooted in their corner of Styria and shaped by trust in the grapes. There’s no chase for polish—just patient work, a few well-chosen decisions, and wines that are easy to enjoy without needing a dictionary.
