Quinta is a captivating red wine from the Mukhrani area of Kartli, Georgia, crafted by the renowned natural winemaker Pheasant’s Tears. What sets it apart is its unusual blend of three red grapes (Tavkveri, Danakharuli, Shavkapito) and two white grapes (Chinuri, Goruli Mtsvane), all macerated together for five days in traditional qvevri. The spontaneous fermentation relies on native yeasts, and after pressing, the wine spends six months refining in amphora with minimal sulfur, without filtration or clarification.
The result is a lively wine bursting with layers of fruit, from ripe berries to subtler hints of dried fruit. There are also gentle floral notes and a touch of fresh herbs that add to its complexity. On the palate, Quinta is soft yet structured, with bright acidity and just the right amount of tannin. Perfect alongside game or simply enjoyed on its own, it highlights Georgia’s winemaking heritage in every sip.
