Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Plantes aux Bois is a Pinot Noir with a clear sense of place and a very personal style. It comes from an old parcel in Comblanchien, planted in the late 1960s on clay and Comblanchien limestone, which gives the wine both tension and depth.
In the cellar, whole clusters are used for a semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel, followed by fermentation with native yeasts. No sulfur is added during vinification, and the wine then rests for a year in oak barrels, with only a small part of new wood.
The result is a Pinot Noir that feels lively and expressive, with pure fruit, fine texture and a deeper, more structured side than many expect from the variety. It already shows plenty of energy, but it also has the balance to develop nicely with time.
