1182 Ancestral

1182 Ancestral is a mountain sparkling wine made from old grape varieties grown at 1182 metres above sea level. The vines are around 50 years old and grow in sandy, iron-rich soil with quartz, which helps give the wine freshness and a clear mineral touch.

It is made using the ancestral method: the wine is bottled before fermentation is fully finished, so the bubbles form naturally inside the bottle. After that, it spends 63 months on the lees, gaining more texture, depth and a calm, savoury side. Whole bunch pressing and fermentation in fiberglass keep the style direct and focused. A distinctive sparkling wine for those who enjoy natural bubbles with a sense of place.
