Partida Creus CX Cartoixa Vermell is made from Cartoixà Vermell, a rare pink-skinned relative of Xarel·lo from Catalonia. Although it is often close to white wine in weight, its skin contact gives it an orange-wine character, with a gentle grip and a lightly textured feel.
Expect a fresh, slightly cloudy natural wine with citrus notes, hints of pink grapefruit and tangerine peel, and a clear saline edge. The grapes are dry-farmed and harvested by hand, then fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined, with very low sulphur, keeping its character direct and a little wild. A good choice if you enjoy fresh wines with texture, minerality and something outside the usual white wine path.
