PostModerna is Milan Nestarec’s very personal take on Blaufränkisch, made for relaxed, everyday drinking. Instead of focusing on a single plot or year, it blends several barrels from different harvests and vineyards around Moravský Žižkov and Velké Bílovice. Each barrel adds its own voice, so the wine feels like a calm conversation about what this grape can be in Moravia.
The grapes come from organically farmed vines rooted in loess, sand and clay, all hand-picked at low yields. Fermentation is spontaneous in open vats with gentle punchdowns, then the wine rests in older 225–400 L barrels. It’s bottled unfiltered, unfined and with no added sulphites, so it keeps a lot of its natural energy.
In the glass, expect a dark, juicy red with cherries and berries, a touch of spice and a smooth, medium body. Easy to enjoy yet not boring, it’s a great bottle to open with friends when you want something characterful but still very approachable. Serve slightly cool around 16–18 °C.
