Danger 380 Volts is Milan Nestarec’s cult sparkling from the sandy Sahary vineyard in Moravský Žižkov, Moravia. It’s a field blend of three local grapes: Neuburger brings character and grip, Müller-Thurgau keeps the wine light and easy to drink, and Muscat adds gentle floral and exotic notes.
Made as an ancestral-style sparkling wine (pet-nat), it ferments spontaneously and is re-fermented in the bottle with grape must from the same vineyard. The wine is bottled without fining, filtration or added sulfur, so it’s lightly cloudy with fine, lively bubbles and lots of energy.
In the glass you can expect bright citrus and pomelo, green apple and nectarine, with hints of mint, flowers and a touch of reduction that quickly blows off. Dry, fresh and slightly salty on the palate, it’s the kind of bottle that disappears fast, perfect as an aperitif or with light meals.
The name came while tasting an early version next to a “Danger 380V” electric sign – a perfect match for the juice in the glass.
