Mátyás Sámuel Pétnat is a sparkling white wine from Slovakia, crafted entirely from Riesling grapes grown organically near the protected Drieňová hora nature reserve. Produced using the ancient pétnat method (short for "pétillant naturel"), this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation without added yeast, enzymes, or sulfites, making it especially suitable for those sensitive to sulfur dioxide. Its natural process results in a gently fizzy texture with delicate bubbles.
In the glass, the wine presents a soft yellow color with fine bubbles and subtle foam. Aromas of ripe apple, citrus, floral notes, dried herbs, and mineral hints create an inviting bouquet. On the palate, it's dry and refreshingly juicy, showcasing a clean, authentic expression of Riesling with soft mineral nuances. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled white meats, and lighter appetizers. Best served chilled at 8–9 °C, it's a refreshing choice, particularly during warmer seasons.
