Matassa Blossom is an orange wine from Roussillon, made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. Instead of being treated as a simple aromatic white grape, Muscat is given around 15 days of contact with skins and stems, which brings its amber tone, gentle texture and extra depth.
The wine is spontaneously fermented and made in a natural style, without additives or added sulphur. In the glass, it shows notes of apricot, green plum, citrus, orange blossom and a light mineral edge. The palate is fresh and silky, with a touch of salty tension and fine grip from the skin contact.
Blossom is a good choice for those who enjoy orange wines that are aromatic but still clean, lively and easy to drink. It works well with Mediterranean seafood, goat cheese, citrus-based dishes or lightly spicy Asian food.
