PEC 500 from Lammidia is a white wine made entirely from Pecorino grapes grown in the Capodacqua vineyard, sitting 500 meters above sea level. This area is often described as a “grand cru” of Abruzzo for Pecorino, thanks to its wide temperature swings between warm days and cool nights, along with its dry, rocky soils of limestone, sand, and marl.
The grapes are gently pressed with just a few hours of skin contact before the wine ages in barrique, which brings a touch of softness and structure. The result is a Pecorino that reflects its high-altitude terroir with freshness, verticality, and a subtle saline edge, rounded by fine tannins from the wood.
PEC 500 also represents Lammidia’s future vision, as Pecorino is the grape they plan to focus on and explore in many styles. This bottle is both a tribute to the vineyard’s unique conditions and an expression of what Pecorino can achieve in Abruzzo.
