L'Abrunet Negre is a red wine from Terra Alta, a region with a rich history and unique winemaking traditions. Made from a blend of Red Grenache and Carignan, the grapes for this wine are harvested together, just as local winemakers did in the past. This traditional method, known as field blending, gives the wine a natural harmony between its flavors.
The fermentation process is equally special—using whole grapes that are foot-trodden and fermented with native yeasts in concrete tanks. This approach helps preserve the fresh fruit character of the wine while adding depth and texture.
The result is a fluid, fruit-forward wine with aromas of ripe red berries, floral notes, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is smooth and fresh, with a good balance between volume and lightness.
Beyond its winemaking, this wine carries a connection to history, as the vineyards are located in the historical site of the Battle of the Ebro, one of the key battles of the Spanish Civil War. This deep tie to the land makes L'Abrunet Negre not just a wine, but a story in a bottle—one that reflects both tradition and resilience.
