Gut Oggau **Winifred Rosé** is a biodynamic wine from Burgenland, Austria, made with Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt grapes. The vines are around 35 years old and grow on gravel and limestone soils near Lake Neusiedl, giving the wine a marked mineral character.

The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, and gently macerated for one day before fermenting spontaneously with native yeasts in large used oak barrels. The wine is then aged for about eight months in oak and bottled without filtration, clarification, or added sulfur. Unlike many rosés, this vineyard is dedicated solely to producing rosé, not as a byproduct of red winemaking.

In the glass, Winifred Rosé is light and expressive, showing notes of red currant, pomegranate, and lime, along with subtle herbal touches and a clean mineral finish. It is lively, youthful, and easy to enjoy, yet carries depth from its careful winemaking.

This wine is part of Gut Oggau’s unique “family” of wines, each with its own personality. Winifred is portrayed as the cheerful and sociable youngest member, a fitting reflection of this refreshing and charming rosé.
