Voï vins - Jason Ligas

Voï vins

Voi (also written Voï) is the personal project of Jason Ligas on the lower slopes of Mount Olympus, in the historic Rapsani area near the village of Krania. Jason grew up making wine with his family at Domaine Ligas, studied in Montpellier, and trained with Jacques Selosse in Champagne. The name “Voï” means “roar” in Greek, a nod to the rocky mountain and to giving a voice back to old vineyards.

Since 2023, the team has worked from Krania’s old stone primary school, now a simple winery. They farm old, mostly bush-trained vines of Xinomavro, Krassato, and Stavroto—the classic Rapsani trio—using permaculture and biodynamic principles. In the cellar it’s native yeasts, no fining or filtration, and no added sulfites. The goal is to protect local grapes and the know-how of mountain viticulture while letting the wind, altitude, and rock speak in the glass.

What you can expect: reds and rosés with clear fruit, gentle tannin, and a salty, mountain lift; and sometimes a blanc de noir white made from the same local reds. Production remains small, so bottles can show vintage character—part of the appeal of natural wine. Open a bottle with grilled lamb, roasted vegetables, or meze and you’ll get why Jason chose this place and these methods.
