Work in Progress is a whole-cluster red blending Merlot (60%) and Garnacha (40%) from calcareous-clay vineyards in Cretas (Aragón), made just across the border in Arnes, Terra Alta. Certified organic. The Merlot was mostly whole cluster with a short three-day maceration; the Garnacha was fully whole cluster with a one-day soak. Fermented separately, then blended and aged eight months in stainless steel to keep the fruit clear and lively. Bottled by gravity with no fining, no filtration, and no added sulphur.
In the glass, expect red cherry and raspberry, a light herbal note from the stems, gentle tannins, and a fresh, dry finish. It’s an easygoing table wine that takes well to a slight chill.
Serve with cochinita pibil tacos and plenty of guacamole, charred peppers and onions, or even a square of dark chocolate on date night. A straightforward, low-intervention expression of Mediterranean-influenced, continental vineyards—bright fruit, subtle spice, and clean drinkability.
