Malva de Sitges

Malva de Sitges from Sicus is a single-vineyard Malvasía de Sitges grown on the El Corral del Segarra plot, just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean. This historic local grape is sometimes called the “Riesling of the Mediterranean” because it gives wines with bright acidity and a clear, mineral character.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with their whole bunches in a long, gentle infusion. The wine then runs off by its own weight, without pressing, and rests for months in stainless steel. There are no added sulphites, and it is bottled unfined and unfiltered, so you taste the grape and place as directly as possible.
In the glass, expect a straw yellow colour with golden hints, aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, light floral notes and a salty touch that recalls sea air. The palate is fresh and dry, with a straight, chalky line, a subtle bitter note like raw almond or fennel, and a long, clean, mineral finish. This is a characterful Mediterranean white for people who enjoy pure, coastal wines.
