Radikon Ribolla is an orange wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia, made entirely from the local Ribolla Gialla grape. The Radikon family has become a benchmark for this style, reviving traditional winemaking methods that go back to their grandfather. Grapes from old vines are hand-harvested, destemmed, and left in contact with their skins for about three months, a process usually reserved for red wines. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in wooden vats, with no temperature control and no added yeasts.
After maceration, the wine ages for three years in large oak casks and then continues its slow evolution in the bottle for up to two more years, always without filtration or added sulfites. This long journey gives Ribolla its deep amber color, structure, and complexity. The result is a wine with aromas of quince, dried apricot, orange zest, and herbal notes. On the palate it shows freshness, a touch of tannin, and a long, layered finish.
Radikon Ribolla is a striking expression of Collio’s winemaking heritage, offering a unique way to experience a white grape treated with the depth and patience of a red wine.
