Pico is a rare dry expression of Picolit, one of Friuli’s most valued grapes. Picolit is often known for sweet passito wines, but here it shows a different side: clean, dry, mineral and savoury. The grapes come from Cormons in Collio, where the local “Ponca” soil of marl and sandstone gives the wine a clear stony character.
The wine is made with a short skin contact of about one week in cement tanks, then fermented with native yeasts and aged in stainless steel. It is not fined or filtered, keeping the profile direct and expressive. Expect notes of citrus, white flowers, yellow fruit and a light touch of honey, followed by a fresh, salty finish. It works well as an aperitif, with seafood, sushi, lemon risotto, creamy poultry dishes or medium-aged cheeses such as Montasio.
