Mátyás Pinot Blanc is a Slovak natural wine from the Strekov area in South Slovakia. This wine stands out with its slightly broader character compared to typical Pinot Blanc wines from Alsace. Despite the challenges of the 2023 vintage, including heavy rains and disease, Mátyás embraced this opportunity to create a unique varietal expression. Grapes were harvested early to preserve freshness and acidity, resulting in a wine that's refreshing yet expressive. Barrel fermentation provides a traditional style reminiscent of classic European winemaking, allowing the neutral character of Pinot Blanc to highlight the distinct qualities of the local terroir.
