Magasé Ánfora is a distinctive Spanish white wine crafted from the local Zalema grape variety in traditional clay amphoras. Inspired by ancient winemaking methods from the Tartessos civilization, this wine highlights a historical connection, using practices rooted deeply in tradition.
Harvested manually from vineyards over 80 years old at Finca La Jueza, the grapes undergo a gentle maceration in clay vessels for two days, extracting structure and character from skins and seeds. After pressing, fermentation continues naturally in the same amphoras using native yeasts. Remarkably, the wine then ages spontaneously under a layer of natural yeast known as "velo de flor," from the end of fermentation until springtime.
This wine has pale color and aromas of yellow stone fruit and creamy dairy notes. On the palate, it brings flavors of fresh citrus and stone fruits with a clear saline touch. It pairs especially well with seafood, scrambled egg dishes, and foie gras.
Magasé Ánfora provides a taste of Andalusian heritage, blending history, tradition, and expressive local grapes in each bottle.
