Cuccurucucù is a distinctive rosé wine from Catalonia, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Macabeo grapes in a creative and flavorful way. What makes this wine special is its unique production method: Merlot free-run juice first ferments in chestnut barrels, then is topped with Macabeo grapes that have macerated for a week with their skins. The wine ages three months in new chestnut barrels, followed by an additional six months resting in stainless steel, enhancing its fresh character and complexity.
On the nose, it delights with aromas of fresh fruit and subtle hints of vanilla. Its surprisingly full body leads to a gentle, slightly sweet finish. Cuccurucucù is versatile and pairs wonderfully with dishes like curry, marinated salmon, white meats, and fresh Italian pasta. Imagine sipping strawberries and cream in a glass—that’s the experience this wine delivers.
