Verdeja Le Dicen

Verdeja Le Dicen is a white wine made from Verdeja, an old local grape connected to Verdejo. This variety was once so important that vineyards planted with it were known as “verdejeras”. Here it comes from vines between 35 and over 100 years old, giving the wine a clear sense of depth and character.

The winemaking is simple and hands-on: whole bunches are foot-trodden, pressed in a traditional basket press, then fermented with native yeasts in used oak barrels. It also ages in barrel before bottling without fining. In the glass, expect a bright straw colour, with notes of fresh grass, citrus, ripe fruit, a light anise touch and a subtle smoky hint. The palate is fresh but full, with good acidity, a savoury mineral side and a small note of rose pepper on the finish.
