La Llopetera is a biodynamic Pinot Noir crafted in Conca de Barberà, where vines thrive around 600 meters above sea level on limestone and clay soils. The winery relies on its own flock of sheep and chickens for natural compost, supporting a healthy and diverse ecosystem. After a careful hand harvest, native yeasts drive spontaneous fermentation, and the wine is aged in French oak for about 12 months. No fining, filtering, or added sulfur is involved, allowing the wine to showcase bright red fruit flavors, subtle spice, and a balanced acidity that pairs wonderfully with roasted poultry, hearty vegetables, or light stews.
By the way, the producer has confirmed there will be no 2024 vintage. A combination of harsh drought and nearby wildlife feasting on the grapes tragically resulted in no harvest at all. Despite this setback, La Llopetera remains a shining example of genuine dedication to sustainable viticulture and the pure expression of Pinot Noir.
