Envínate’s Lousas Viñas de Aldea comes from steep, slate-rich slopes in Ribeira Sacra, where old vines—some around 60 years of age—are grown organically. Mostly Mencía with a touch of other native grapes, this red is crafted in open-top tanks using wild yeasts, then matured for 11 months in neutral French oak without any racking. The Atlantic climate and stony soils contribute to its vibrant, mineral character.
On the nose, it shows fresh red fruit aromas—think raspberries and strawberries—alongside subtle hints of liquorice, anise, and violets. In the mouth, velvety tannins and juicy fruit flavors strike a lovely balance, making each sip both lively and smooth. Suitable for vegans, Lousas Viñas de Aldea offers a genuine taste of the region’s steep slopes and traditional methods, delivering a bright and appealing wine that’s easy to enjoy.
