Limite Acque Sicure shows a different face of Abruzzo red wine. Controvento blends Montepulciano with the white grapes Passerina and Trebbiano, then lets the must ferment on the skins for 14 days with no added yeast or sulfites. After resting in steel tanks the wine is bottled unfiltered, keeping every nuance alive. The organically farmed vines grow in clay-calcareous soil near the Adriatic, and that sea breeze appears as a light salty hint. Expect juicy cherry, a twist of grapefruit and a soft balsamic touch. Bright acidity and gentle tannin make each sip rhythmic and easy. Serve it slightly cool with pizza, roasted vegetables or a plate of cured meats.
