Controvento

Controvento is a natural red made entirely from Montepulciano grown on clay-sandstone slopes that face the Adriatic in Rocca San Giovanni. The vines are cultivated organically with biodynamic principles and never see synthetic chemicals. Hand-picked grapes ferment spontaneously in steel with native yeasts, then rest a few months in the same tanks. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and without added sulphites, total SO₂ stays below 10 mg/L, and the wine is vegan-friendly. This gentle approach lets the variety speak clearly: look for vivid red-berry fruit, a light savoury edge carried by the sea breeze and a refreshing, medium weight palate that invites another sip. Enjoy it slightly cool (about 10 °C) alongside pasta, grilled vegetables or kebab, or tuck away a bottle for a couple of years to gain extra depth.
