Altomare leads you out into the deep waters of Abruzzo’s coast. Grown on calcareous-clay terraces facing the Adriatic in the protected Fosso delle Farfalle, this gentle skin-contact white brings the sea to the glass. A local quartet – mainly Trebbiano, joined by Malvasia di Candia, Passerina and Fiano – ferments with native yeasts and rests in steel without filtration or added sulphur. Two days on the skins lend a bright golden tone and soft grip. Expect ripe peach, chamomile and grapefruit riding a light saltiness that keeps every sip fresh. Serve cool with simple fish, fresh cheeses or an afternoon plate of olives and bread – the wine’s natural energy and clean finish make it an easy companion.
