La Luna tinto is a dry red from Banyuls-sur-Mer in Roussillon, made mainly from Grenache in three colours: red, white and grey, with a small part of Carignan. This mix gives the wine a personal character, combining sun-filled fruit with a lighter, more lifted feel.
The grapes come from old vines on slate, grassy slopes close to the Mediterranean. Whole bunches are used in fermentation with native yeasts, followed by ageing in a mix of oak barrels and stainless steel. The result is juicy and fresh, with notes of wild berries, Mediterranean herbs and a gentle salty finish. It is a good choice if you enjoy Southern French reds with energy rather than heaviness, and it can be served slightly chilled.
